A week is a great amount of time to visit Cartagena. It gives you enough time to explore the historic walled city, enjoy the beaches and nearby islands, experience the nightlife and take a few day trips without feeling rushed.

There’s no official dress code for the wedding, so feel free to wear whatever makes you comfortable! We recommend packing light, breathable clothing since Cartagena stays hot and humid year-round, with temperatures usually in the mid-80s to low-90s. It’s caliente! ☀️

Yes! Colombia is incredibly diverse and beautiful. We recommend visiting Medellín, a vibrant mountain city known for its great weather and colorful neighborhoods. Parque Tayrona, with its turquoise beaches, jungle trails, and stunning mountain views. Salento, part of Colombia’s UNESCO listed Coffee Cultural Landscape, famous for its coffee farms and the tall palm trees of Cocora Valley. Barichara, a charming colonial town with cobblestone streets and beautiful mountain scenery. Of course, Cartagena’s historic center, where the wedding will be, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site full of colorful streets and Caribbean charm.

We recommend staying in El Centro or Getsemaní, two vibrant neighborhoods full of charm and close to the wedding venue. No, you don’t need to know Spanish to get around! Most people speak English, especially in tourist areas and everyone is incredibly friendly and happy to help. You’ll feel right at home!
